AMAYA BEACH RESORT  |  PASSIKUDAH

Set on 10 acres of land by the sea, Amaya Beach, has been designed to house 125 keys each with an ocean view.

The concept for this exquisite hotel was derived from a pavilion based concept similar to South Indian temple architecture.

The design ethos used was a diffusion between the exterior and the interior, creative vistas of spaces and playing on the five senses using the three elements of water, wind and fire.

The inclusion of a large deck helped create a unique atmosphere for the resort and spa. The planning guards privacy and optimizes convenience, in a step by step walk through impression to simplify guest progression through the resort, creating an exciting discovery of surprises with refreshing sunlit courtyards, niches with sculptures and smooth pools of clear water.

Location: Passikudah, Sri Lanka

Status: Completed in 2013
